Vision Therapy: A School's Guide

Did you know?

Over 6 children in every class have a vision problem?

Most go through school undiagnosed. Undiagnosed vision problems may be affecting the school performance of some of your students.

 

Vision Check List:

If a student shows any of these signs, they may benefit with Vision Therapy:  

School Performance:

1)     Slow reading speed
2)     Reduced comprehension
3)     Attention issues
4)     Learning difficulty
5)     Skips words or loses place
6)     Reverses letters or words eg was = saw
7)     Tired or fatigued after school

While reading:

1)     Words become blurry
2)     Works close to the page
3)     Closes one eye or covers eye with hand
4)     Uses finger to read
5)     Rubs eyes during or after periods of reading
6)     Words seem to ‘move’ on the page
7)     Tendency to knock things over on a desk or table
8)     Exhibits avoidance of reading or home work
